Deputy Chief Minister and Education Minister Kadiyam Srihari has warned the private schools not to admit students for the next academic year as the Government will come out with a school fee regulation policy based on the Prof. Tirupati Rao Committee, which is likely to submit its report within a month.
Mr. Srihari while replying to questions in the Assembly on Thursday also asked the parents not to hurry into admissions in private unaided schools. If they do hurry to admit their wards they may risk such admissions in the wake of the ensuing Government’s policy on admissions and the fee structure, the Minister added.
Exorbitant fees
Mr. Srihari admitted that private schools and international schools were charging exorbitant amounts and the Tirupati Rao Committee was constituted to look into the issue and suggest ways to streamline the process.
The committee has already held discussions with several school managements and parents associations and the schools have been asked to upload their fee structure, the Minister said.
