Investigators probing the abduction of a woman software engineer in her car by an unknown person from Khajaguda have ruled out any sexual assault on her.
No external injuries were found, they said quoting the medical report. Five persons were also questioned in connection with her abduction, a police official confirmed.
“We have some clues and hopefully will crack the case shortly. We are not clear as why the accused targeted her. We are collecting more details from her colleagues and friends,” said DCP Madhapur Kanti Rana Tata. Hailing from Bangalore, the woman joined the company five months ago and was staying in a rented house near Raidurgam.
ThreatenedThe abductor speaking in English threatened the woman with a surgical appliance and asked her to drive her white Maruti Swift Dzire towards Gachibowli.
On realising that the police were chasing the car, he forced the woman to stop the car on the Outer Ring Road (ORR) near Himayathsagar Road and ran away.
Case bookedAnother police official said they were trying to enquire whether the woman earlier had any dispute with her friends that led to the incident and added that a case under Section 363 and Nirbhaya Act were booked.
