Woman stabbed to death by ex-employer

A 28 years old labourer, Kumaramma from Gowliguda, was stabbed to death by a person at Nayapul on Sunday night. The victim was returning home along with her husband Narsimha when Venkatesh, a contractor for whom the couple worked earlier attacked her.

The police said that the victim and contractor had an altercation over payment of money after which the couple stopped working for him.

When the couple was returning from work, Venkatesh stabbed the woman from behind at Nayapul Bridge. She sustained severe injuries and was rushed to OGH where she died while undergoing treatment. The Afzalgunj police registered a case under section 302 (murder) of IPC and launched a manhunt to arrest Venkatesh.

Student attacked at seminary

An argument over the quality of food being served at a seminary resulted in an attack on a student at Moghalpura on Sunday night. The condition of the student is stated to stable.

Mohd Aslam, (18), who is pursuing an Arabic course at the seminary, questioned the cook Aftab, a native of Uttar Pradesh, over the quality of the food being served to the students. It soon led to an altercation and in a fit of rage, the cook attacked Aslam with a knife which he was using to cut vegetables leading to injuries to the latter on the neck, Moghalpura Inspector K. Naveen Kumar said.
