Pragathi Nagar residents in Kukatpally have a different problem. While, surrounding localities like Vivekanandanagar, Sathavahana Nagar, IDPL Colony, Jalavayu Vihar are supplied with sufficient water, Pragathi Nagar residents are deprived of the same.

Water Board is supposed to supply 500 litres of water per family every alternate day. But it supplies only 350 to 400 litres of water per family.

This is despite after the gram Panchayat is willing to pay the required amount to enhance the water supply, says Ch. Sudheer Reddy, Upa Sarpanch of Pragathi Nagar Gram Panchayat. Several requests, including during ‘Dial Your MD' programme, were made to water board authorities. But citing pipeline capacity reasons, water board authorities are ignoring our pleas since three months, he explains.

“Pragathi Nagar is perhaps one of those few localities in the city where every water connection has water meter and residents pay their bills promptly. Yet, they do not get proper service,” fumes Mr. Reddy.
