Pay 50% fee for PG medical admission: High Court

A two judge vacation bench of the High Court at Hyderabad comprising Justice A.V. Sesha Sai and Justice M.S.K. Jaiswal on Thursday modified an earlier order of the court on the quantum of fees payable by students seeking PG admission in MD and dental faculties in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.

The students, who complained of exorbitant fee rise, will now have to pay 50% of the new fee and execute a bond for the balance 50%, the bench said, as an interim measure. The bench heard counsel for the petitioners and a battery of senior advocates appearing for the private managements and Additional Advocate General for the State.

Order modified

The bench modified the earlier order at the instance of the various petitioners . Earlier, the writ petition complained that the fee enhancement was not only exorbitant but also contrary to the procedure laid down by law.
