Rising incidence of mistreatment of Indians, mainly blue-collar employees, in the Middle East, has prompted the city police to crackdown on dubious agents. In one such case, two people were arrested on Monday.

The Commissioner’s Task Force apprehended P. Raju and Mohammed Shoukath who are allegedly running an illegal man-power outsourcing consulting firm. They duo promised to send prospective job-seekers to Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in 15 days with a work visa and collected amounts ranging from Rs. 90,000 to Rs. 1,20,000. However, they sent over 40 people illegally to the Middle Eastern nation through Dubai. The police also said the whereabouts of one woman from Saidabad, who the agents sent, remain unknown. The police also named three people as accused but they are yet to be nabbed.
