While relatives of those injured in the City Light Hotel building collapse incident were busy ensuring proper treatment to their wards at Gandhi Hospital, politicians made a beeline causing a lot of inconvenience to the patients.

Leaders rushed to both the hotel site and the hospital to give sound bites to the media persons despite repeated pleas from policemen to leave the place.

Starting with TRS leader Nayani Narasimha, leaders of all parties continued their visits till evening.

Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy, TDP president N. Chandrababu Naidu, former Rajya Sabha member K. Keshav Rao were among those who came to the hospital.

Anti-CM slogans

Irate relatives of a person, who died in the mishap, raised ‘CM down CM down’ and anti-Government slogans when the Chief Minister was returning after consoling the injured.

Gandhi Hospital Superintendent Dr. M. Chandrasekar said 11 people died on the spot and two others died while undergoing treatment.

Fifteen people were undergoing treatment, of them the condition of one continues to remain critical.

“We have performed three surgeries. We are constantly monitoring the condition of the patients,” Dr. Chandrasekar said. Chief Secretary P.K. Mohanty also visited the hospital.
