Muslim women's conference

Various issues concerning Muslim women will be addressed at the two-day women's conference beginning here on June 5. The State level conference is being organised by Jamiatul Mominath, the girl's seminary, at Mir Alam Idgah.

Noted Islamic scholars, including women, from different parts of the country will address the conference which will be inaugurated by Mufti Khaleel Ahmed, Vice-Chancellor, Jamia Nizamia.

Issues like women's education, domestic violence, extravagant marriages, women's participation in elections and the Shariat view point, women's rights and responsibilities will figure at the conference.

Syed Shah Noorul Haq Quadri, president, conference reception committee, told presspersons here on Wednesday that free transport would be provided for women and girls to reach the conference venue. About 50,000 women were expected to participate in the programme, he said.
