Move to take over OU land opposed

May 24, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:52 am IST - HYDERABAD:

Mechineni Kishan Rao, former Minister and president of 1969 Telangana Vudyamakarula Samithi, strongly opposed Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao’s move to build houses for the poor on Osmania University land. If the Chief Minister does not drop the idea, then the Samithi will chalk out a plan of action, he said.

Speaking to presspersons here on Saturday, he said nobody was opposed to building houses for the poor but not at the expense of Osmania University, where a number of poor students studied. The Chief Minister should try to take back the encroached land and levy penalty on the encroachers, Mr. Rao said.
