Miscreants make vain bid to loot ATM

Miscreants made an unsuccessful bid to break an ATM belonging to the UCO Bank at Yakutpura and steal cash from the machine. According to the police, the offenders entered into the unmanned ATM centre and damaged the CCTV cameras installed inside the premises. They then tried to open the cash chest but could not succeed. On receipt of information, the Rein Bazaar police rushed to the spot and called up the bank officials. Officials later confirmed that no cash was missing. Special teams have been formed to nab the offenders.

Chain snatched

Two motorcycle borne miscreants snatched a gold chain from a woman at Rakshapuram in Santoshnagar on Monday morning. The victim, B Manjula was walking on the road when the miscreants struck and snatched her gold chain and sped away.

Meet on child abuse

The Cyberabad police conducted a sensitisation cum awareness programme for police officers on child sexual abuse, POSCO Act, Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act 2000 on Saturday. The programme was held under the supervision of Rama Rajeshwari, DCP Malkajgiri.

IAF officer killed in accident

An IAF officer, K Srinivas Rao, (42) was killed when a truck hit the motorcycle he was going on, at Dundigal on Monday morning. The man sustained serious injuries in the incident and died on the spot, the police said.

Raids on liquor shop

Excise officials of Ibrahimpatnam and Ranga Reddy district raided liquor shops to check violation of excise rules. Cases were registered against three shops for selling loose liquor against rules.
