The Centre for Educational Development of Minorities (CEDM) has brought out books for those undertaking coaching for Eamcet, Neet and Icet examinations. The books written by the subject experts will be given freely to the minority students writing the exam.
Osmania University Vice-Chancellor Prof. S. Satyanarayana, who released the books at the CEDM centre in Nizam College on Monday, asked the students to put in hard work. He recalled the steps being taken by the government to improve the literacy rate among minorities.
M.A. Waheed, Commissioner, Minorities Welfare, released the course material for Icet. He said a major chunk of the Rs.1,027 crore minority welfare budget was earmarked for education of minorities. The government was keen to bring the minorities on par with others on the education front, he said.
Coaching centres
S.A. Shukoor, Director, CEDM, said coaching for Eamcet and Neet was being offered at Hyderabad, Zaheerabad, Nizamabad, Mahboobnagar, Kurnool, Prodatur, Guntur, Kadri and Vishakpatnam. The Icet coaching was being given at Hyderabad, Kurnool, Guntur and Vishakapatnam. The coaching, which commenced on April 2 will continue up to May 4.
Ed.CET coaching
It was also proposed to offer Ed.CET coaching from May 7 at nine centres, Prof. Shukoor said.
Nizam College principal Prof. D.L. N. Swamy urged the students to avail the facilities being offered by the government for uplift of minorities.
