Metro Rail MD NVS Reddy’s term extended

The State Government issued orders on Thursday extending the services of Hyderabad Metro Rail Managing Director N.V.S. Reddy by another year. Mr. Reddy, an IRAS officer, was absorbed into the State Government service from December 2008 till his superannuation and accordingly, he would be retiring as central service officer on June 30, 2017.

Special Chief Secretary Municipal Administration and Urban Development M.G. Gopal in the orders mentioned that Mr. Reddy had successfully tackled many contentious and sensitive hurdles that were encountered in the implementation of the project so far.

Hyderabad Metro rail project was the largest project in public, private partnership (PPP) mode in the world and first of its kind in the country with a huge investment by the private concessionaire of up to Rs.15, 000 crore.
