The Telangana government has given extension to the Managing Director of Hyderabad Metro Rail Limited N.V.S. Reddy for a further period of one year from June 30.

The orders issued by the Secretary, Municipal Administration and Urban Development, Navin Mittal said despite being one of the largest metro rail projects in PPP mode in the world and first-of-its-kind PPP metro project in the country, Hyderabad Metro Rail project has made good progress in the last five years.

“N.V.S. Reddy as the Managing Director of the project has successfully tackled various contentious and sensitive issues and satisfactorily handled the hurdles that were encountered in the implementation of the project so far,” the Secretary said. However, being a capital-intensive and high-risk investment PPP project there are still some critical issues which need to be handled with considerable tack, dexterity and expertise, he added.
