The Telangana State government and the Metro Rail authorities are considering to begin an educational campaign for the commuters in order to keep the premises clean and neat along with orderly behaviour, in association with the municipal corporation as well as the police.
Minister for Municipal Administration K.T. Rama Rao and Chief Secretary S.P. Singh assured Governor E.S.L. Narasimhan on Wednesday that all out efforts are being made to give a world class travel experience to the citizens once the service is launched across 30 km from Nagole to Miyapur later this month as the maiden stretch.
The Governor, along with L&TMRH Chairman S.N. Subrahmanyan, MD Shivanand Nimbargi, HMR MD N.V.S. Reddy and other senior officials went round the different construction sites from S.R. Nagar to Miyapur where work was going at good pace.
He was informed about the Communication Based Train Control (CBTC) that enables final train frequency of two minutes, in-built driverless train technology, etc., bringing in the latest passenger comfort, train ride quality, energy efficiencies, etc.
Aesthetics
High quality street level works were being developed at Miyapur in particular and at all the 24 metro stations in the inaugural 30 km stretch from Miyapur to Ameerpet (13 km) and Ameerpet to Nagole (17 km) in general, like aesthetically designed side-walks, signages, greenery, so on to an extent of about 700 metres at every station down below.
When Mr. Narasimhan enquired if the civic works at the stations would be completed on time, Mr. N.V.S. Reddy sought to assure him that the street level facilities at the main station area of 220 metres of the 700 metres which is right below and titled as ‘Zone B’’ will be completed at almost all the 24 metro stations by the inaugural time.
The remaining works in ‘Zone A’ and ‘Zone C’ on both ends of the station will be completed in the next couple of months along with railings to prevent passengers spilling over onto the main thoroughfare.
