JNTU-H will henceforth ensure that recruitments are as per AICTE norms and no ‘bogus’ teachers are recruited in professional colleges. The university has made it mandatory for teachers to register in its website ‘www.jntuhaac.in’. Aadhaar card and PAN card details have to be submitted by the existing faculty and prospective candidates from this year.

A registration ID generated by the website has to be quoted by the faculty for employment purpose while colleges need to mention IDs for all the faculty while seeking affiliation.

Information on qualification, experience, date of joining and a photograph will be sought during the registration.

Prospective candidates can also register for applying for any faculty position in an institution henceforth. The data will be used and verified while recruiting new teachers or the experienced ones under the guidance of JNTU. “It will be helpful during annual inspections. We are also capturing the equipment data,” N.V. Ramana Rao, Registrar, JNTU-H. said.

With the government firm on cracking down the ‘bogus’ colleges and admissions, JNTU-H will also ensure recruitments are as per AICTE norms and just B.Tech won’t do. M.Tech degree is must for recruitment while even Associate Professors need to have a Ph.D. Even employing retired professors above 70 years as principals will be curbed.

The initiatives, officials feel, will lead to closure of ‘non-serious’' colleges and reduce of students through ‘unhealthy’ practices.
