Vemulaghat farmers asked to come with documents

In a move to answer the repeated questions by the farmers of Vemulaghat village in Toguta mandal, the Special Deputy Collector of Kaleshwaram Project, Unit 1, has issued notice informing that inquiry into objections raised under Section 15(1) of Right to Fair Compensation in Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation and Resettlement Act- 2013 (LA Act – 2013) will be conducted no January 23 and 24. The January 11 dated notice stated that they had conducted Grama Sabha on October 21, 2017 and received objections under Section 15(1) from the farmers on primary notification issued under Section 11(1) of the said Act. Though notices were issued asking those interested to attend, some of the persons have accepted them while others refused to receive notices, a release claimed.

“In a move to give one more chance for the land oustees and other interested persons, notices were issued again on January 10 and 11 through register post. Those interested can attend at the office of the Special Deputy Collector, Kaleshwaram Project, Unit 1, Siddipet on January 23 and 24 by 10.30 a.m. and provide relevant documents/records,” said the notice which was pasted in the Vemulaghat panchayat office.

Vemulaghat is the only village under the proposed Mallannasagar Reservoir which has been demanding implementation of L.A. Act - 2013 for the lands being acquired.
