A continuous monitoring of pollution levels at Hussainsagar lake will soon be taken up and the results put on display boards along the water body.

The Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) which has initiated several measures for cleaning of the lake has approached the Andhra Pradesh Pollution Control Board (APPCB) for the task.

“We have asked the PCB for a continuous monitoring of the lake and details of the monitoring will be shown on display boards for the citizens,” HMDA Commissioner Neerabh Kumar Prasad told presspersons here on Wednesday.

Taken up as part of the Hussainsagar Catchment Area Improvement Project (HCIP) with funds from Japan International Cooperation Agency, 90 per cent of works on setting up Interception & Diversion (I&D) structures for the lake was also completed, he said.

The dredging work has been taken up at the lake and the exercise of identifying a suitable site was going on.
