The Telugu Desam Party Telangana State unit has termed as disappointing the manner in which Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao presented the State’s issues to Prime Minister Narendra Modi who was here on a day’s visit.
TDP polit bureau member Ravula Chandrasekhar Reddy alleged that the Government lacked sincerity over convincing the Central Government to sanction the long awaited projects including declaration of an irrigation project as a national project and the proposal to establish an IT Investment Region in the new State.
The vagueness with which the Chief Minister presented the issues to the Prime Minister reflected his Government’s commitment towards achieving these projects. He lamented that the Government failed to prepare a detailed project report pertaining to the Pranahita-Chevella project. “When is the Government expected to present a DPR relating to the project and how long it will take for the project to be grounded?” he asked. There was no mention about the railway coach factory at Kazipet nor was there any talk about the proposed steel plant at Bayyaram in Khammam district.
‘No clarity’There was also no clarity on whether the Government had acquired land for the ITIR in spite of the claims that the proposed investment region would provide 25 lakh jobs.
“What is the net result of the Prime Minister’s visit to the State?” he questioned demanding that the Government release a whitepaper on the status of the ITIR.
