Fire broke out at a furniture shop at Bhavaninagar near Charminar on Saturday. No casualties were reported in the incident. Locals who noticed the fire at around 5 a.m. informed the fire control room about it. Two fire tenders from Gowliguda and Moghapura fire station rushed to the spot. It took around two hours for the fire personnel to douse the fire. Entire furniture in the shop was reduced to ashes.

Officials suspect short-circuit to be a reason.

Two killed in accidents

A 26 year-old-man, S. Vivek Reddy, a software engineer died after falling down from a two-wheeler at Raidurgam on Friday, the police said.

The man was going on his bike when it skidded. He sustained serious injuries and was shifted to a private hospital where he was declared brought dead. In a separate case a four-year-old-boy, R. Prashant of Serilingampally died after coming under the wheels of a truck on Saturday, the police said.

The child was playing in front of his house when the accident took place.

Rs. 8.96 lakh seized

The Pahadishareef police seized Rs. 8.96 lakh cash from two persons during vehicle checking on Saturday. The police said Kumar and Pramod were carrying the cash with them and could not produce support documents.
