PNB Housing Finance Ltd has established education-cum-day care centres for children, in the age groups of 3-6 and 6-14 years, of construction workers at two construction sites in Hyderabad.

The facilities set up at My Home Constructions site in Gowli Doddi and Srinivasa Constructions site in Hafeezpet will support the education, nutrition and development needs of children coming from neighbouring labour camps.

These are the first ever onsite day-care centres for children in the age group of 6-14 years in Hyderabad and established in collaboration with Plan India, an organisation working for child development, and local NGO partner Mahita.

The PNB Housing team and the partners aim to establish five more education cum day-care centres in the city.

PNB Housing Finance has also initiated programmes to impart training to the construction workers to upgrade their skills. In collaboration with other entities, it has trained around 4,500 workers as of December 2016, a release said.
