Close shave for motorists at Gachibowli

A speeding tipper lorry rammed at least 12 cars, a water tanker and lorry before hitting an electricity pole. The official said that they are verifying the cause of the accident. The driver fled soon after the accident.

A speeding tipper lorry rammed at least 12 cars, a water tanker and lorry before hitting an electricity pole at Gachibowli late on Tuesday. No one was injured in the accident, the police said.

According to the police, the tipper, proceeding towards Nanakaramguda from Gachibowli junction, rammed the cars which were stopped at a traffic signal at the Wipro junction.

“It is not clear if the driver lost control over the vehicle due to over-speeding or the brakes failed,” Gachibowli sub-inspector Venkatesh said.

The official said that they are verifying the cause of the accident. The driver fled soon after the accident.

The police shifted the vehicle to Gachibowli police station and is trying to trace the owner with the help of the registration number.
