Justice Kodandaram of Hyderabad High Court on Monday directed the Union Government to adjudicate and finalise the review petition filed by Ramesh Chennamaneni, MLA, whose citizenship was cancelled recently, within six weeks. Till then the order of cancellation will not be operative.
The judge was disposing of the writ petition filed by the lawmaker. Ramesh had contended that the way in which the final order was passed is arbitrary. Relevant material was not considered.
He had filed a review. The court felt that as the review is pending it is appropriate that it shall be heard and decided. Time limit of six weeks was fixed. All the parties are to be heard by the authorities and till this is decided, the final order of cancellation will be operated upon.
