Body of former journalist donated

Body of Kolla Narsimha Rao (93), who passed away in Medak on Saturday night, as per his wish was donated to Government Medical College, here on Sunday.

He is survived by wife Ratnamala, son Baleshwar Rao and daughters Vijaya Bharathi and Rani Durgama. They brought the body from Medak in the morning. Earlier, in a condolence meeting held at Neelam Ramachandraiah Bhavan speakers remembered the contribution of K.N. Rao for the people’s movements.

Born in Sathenapally of Guntur district Mr. Rao migrated to Medak as a communist activist during Telangana armed struggle. He worked in Karimnagar and Medak districts and then went to Mumbai where he started his career as a reporter for The Patriot , English daily. He again came back to Medak and worked as a reporter for Eenadu, Udayam and Andhra Prabha dailies.

He not only supported the people’s movements but also encouraged his children to work as whole timers for the spreading of progressive ideas.

The HRF State vice-president G. Madhava Rao, PDSU State vice-president Saritha, former president Gautham Prasad and P. Sridhar, secretary, CPI (ML) New Democracy spoke.
