Bharatiya Janata Party Greater Hyderabad unit demanded that the government suspend Malakpet ACP Iqbal Siddique, accusing him of showing bias towards a particular community during the communal clashes on Sunday.

In a statement here on Monday, BJP Greater Hyderabad president B. Venkat Reddy alleged that the ACP failed to control trouble mongers in Madannapet. When BJP activists were staging a demonstration for desecration of a religious place, the mob resorted to violence and hurled stones at the activists and the ACP behaved in a unilateral manner. The government should arrest those responsible for defacing the religious premises and hurting the sentiments of people.

Besides, stern action should be taken on MIM leaders for instigating the party workers to unleash terror in communally sensitive areas, he said.
