Bhai and Irani chai will be what this city will be known for, said a star and the select audience, primarily comprising journalists welcomed the rhyming. “It has been a long time since I played a real mass character. The director has done a good job and am sure this film will be welcomed,” he added, to applause again.

That was Akkineni Nagarjuna at the triple platinum disc function of his latest movie, made on the Annapurna Films banner, with Reliance Entertainment, directed by Veerabhadram of Aha Naa Pellanta and Poolarangadu fame. The last action film the star did was ‘King’ and recalling that, he said fans were waiting to see him fight. The project took about 18 months from scripting to be canned.

“The music has already been a hit with Devisri Prasad doing a good job. Lyricists Ananth Sriram, Bhaskarabhatla and Ramajogayya Sastry have put their soul into the songs and while stunt master Vijay has outdone himself, director of photography Sameer Reddy has packaged ‘Bhai’ as an eye-pleasing movie,” Nagarjuna said, not forgetting his lead star Richa Gangopadhyay, Hamsanandhini who did a special song and Hyderabadi Zara, who plays the hero’s sister.

Veerabhadram said it was an action-packed commercial film. “Ten days shooting for two songs in Slovenia, five of them at a 700 year-old castle and five more at another location,” he quipped, when asked what was the most memorable experience during the shoot. Bhai releases in about 750 screens across the world on Friday.
