Two held for ‘stalking’

Two youngsters who were allegedly harassing and stalking a college girl were arrested by SHE team officials. The duo, who are also students, had been following the victim on a bike and car while she was going to college at Abids for the last two weeks. Her father lodged a complaint on WhatsApp with SHE teams after which the police swung into action and apprehended the two accused.

According to Swati Lakra, Additional Commissioner of Police (Crimes), the victim had been frightened to the extent that she even stopped going to college. On January 2, her father lodged a complaint, after which action was taken. The two accused were identified as Ahmed Bin Ali (23), a resident of Phoolbagh, and Mir Saifali Abedi, a resident of Chanchalguda.

Ms. Lakra said those harassing girls would be caught and suo motu cases registered against them even without the victims lodging complaint. In case of emergency, citizens could contact SHE teams through WhatsApp on 9490616555, email at hydsheteam@gmail.com, or can even post on the Facebook page and Twitter handle of the SHE teams.
