Three persons were admitted to Gandhi Hospital on Saturday after testing positive for swine flu.

Despite a rise in day temperatures, the flu continues, though the number of infections and deaths is significantly lower than an epidemic-like situation two years ago when it caused 48 deaths in Gandhi Hospital alone in January and February. Since August last year, 590 cases of infection were confirmed. Twenty people have succumbed to the virus in the same period.

On Friday, the health administration confirmed 28 positive cases. The total number of patients being treated at Gandhi Hospital, which is the nodal for swine flu in the State, rose to 14 after Saturday’s admissions.
