Applications invited from rural innovators, start-ups

Start-up Conclave 2017 be held on March 23-24

The National Institute of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj, Hyderabad, is inviting applications from innovators/startups for display, demonstration and pitching of their ideas and technologies at its Rural Innovators Start-up Conclave 2017 be held here on March 23-24.

Agriculture and allied fields; green energy technologies; drinking water, health and sanitation; waste to wealth; sustainable housing technologies; and sustainable livelihoods are the domain sectors from which applications/nominations are invited. The last date for applying is March 10.

Entries can be made either under the Idea with Prototype or Start-up Stage categories. Under the first, the innovator should have built a prototype with some results or in the middle of building and refining it. Those applying in the start-up stage category, the innovator/team should have at least customers on board and looking for scaling up of the innovation/technology.

The applicant must be over 18 years of age. The start-up should be less than five years old and turnover should not exceed ₹25 lakh. The solution offered should be applicable to rural and semi urban, innovative, add value to customers and commercially scalable. Two awards under each domain sector are to be presented, a release from NIRD&PR said.
