‘Ensure Kaleswaram water by October’

Irrigation officials working on the Kaleswaram project across the Godavari were on Monday asked to ensure that the water from the project was given to fields by October this year.

This was also the desire of Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao, Irrigation Minister T. Harish Rao told a meeting to review the progress of the project.

A release said Mr. Rao asked officials to take up construction of barrages at Medigadda, Annaram and Sundilla as part of the project simultaneously and in an integrated manner. The concrete work related to the pump house coming up at Kannepalli should commence by February-end, he directed the officials.
