As rains continue to lash Uttarakhand, 11 people have been killed across the State in road accidents and landslides in the past two days.
A woman and her two children were killed in their sleep when their house in Purval village of Tehri district’s Ghansali region collapsed in the wee hours of Saturday due to heavy rains.
In another incident on Saturday, three people were killed when a minibus fell into a gorge near Bemunda in Tehri district.

In Chamoli district, two people died and one person went missing when an Army truck went out of control at a spot which was a few kilometres ahead of Badrinath.
In Udham Singh Nagar district’s Khatima area, one person died on Friday as he got swept away in the heavy flow of a local stream in Majhola village.
On Thursday, two people were killed when a utility vehicle fell into a gorge. Heavy rains had caused landslips on the hill lining the Kalsi-Chakrata road and boulders fell on the vehicle, causing the accident.
In the past one week, as many as 25 people have been killed in rain-related incidents across the State. Several national highways and roads have been blocked and rivers are in spate due to continuous rains.
Ganga in spate
In Haridwar, the level of Ganga stood at 292.75 m, against the danger mark of 294 m.
Currently, water from the Tehri dam is being released in a manner that the river stays below the danger mark.
