Two bodies recovered in Tezpur

Blood soaked bodies of two youths killed by unidentified miscreants on Wednesday night at Parmaiguri (Lishubagan) area near here were recovered on Thursday, said a senior police official.

The two youths hailing from Koliabar in Nagaon district were later identified as Kartik Das (30) and Sunit Tanti (20).

Truck missing

They were killed while travelling in a mini truck transporting tea leaves collected from different small tea gardens to Dhekiajuli Tea Estate’s factory, Sonitpur district Superintendent of Police Sanjukta Parashar said.

Police were using sniffer dogs to catch the culprit and investigations are on, she said.

After primary investigation police suspected it was an act of car lifters as the mini truck was taken away by the killers. - PTI
