Six road corridors in the Capital will be decongested by authorities as part of phase-II of the exercise by the task force formed by Lieutenant-Governor Anil Baijal.

These corridors are Vikas Marg, Mehrauli-Badarpur Road, New Rohtak Road, Patel Road, Shahid Jagat Narayan Marg and Outer Ring Road. This was decided during a review meeting held by Mr. Baijal on Friday to review the progress on traffic decongestion of five pilot corridors.

“The L-G directed the stakeholders to ensure there is no re-encroachment after removal of encroachment. He stressed that local police/ thana should assume responsibility for the same,” the L-G’s office said in a statement. The statement said the L-G advised all three municipal corporations of Delhi to revisit their licensing norms for commercial establishments so that they are linked to availability of adequate parking space.
