Upping the ante against the Aam Aadmi Party government, Bharatiya Janata Party legislators met Lieutenant-Governor Najeeb Jung on Wednesday seeking his intervention for removal of Law Minister Jitendar Singh Tomar for allegedly “possessing fake degree”.

Three BJP MLAs, led by Leader of Opposition in Delhi Assembly Vijendar Gupta, met Mr. Jung and submitted a memorandum along with documents to prove the allegations against the Minister.

“We requested the L-G that as the custodian of law in Delhi he may take immediate steps to remove the Law Minister from the Cabinet, besides initiating disciplinary action against him as per rule so as to restore people’s faith in governance, moral values and law,” Mr. Gupta said.
