Finance Minister Manish Sisodia announced on Wednesday that a master plan for tourism and infrastructure is being prepared to make Delhi a world-class tourist destination

Mr. Sisosdia proposed a total expenditure of ₹119 crore on tourism.

The Minister also announced a plan to develop the Yamuna riverfront where people can “connect with nature and the river and realise the importance of protecting it”.

The plan will call for the development of wetlands that will help improve the heath of the river.

“A world-class ecological riverfront of 5km upstream of Wazirabad” has been proposed that will include native plant species.

The government is also planning to develop the Garden of Five Senses into a night-life hub with a luxury food court.

Attracting filmmakers

To promote Delhi as a film shooting destination, a “single window clearance mechanism” has been proposed so that legal formalities to shoot in the city can be completed by visiting only one government office thereby making the process hassle free.
