August 13, 2016 12:00 am | Updated 08:04 am IST - NEW DELHI:

As a security measure for Independence Day, parking lots in Delhi Metro stations will remain closed from August 14 till the afternoon of August 15.

During this period, contractors have been directed to clean their respective parking premises while Metro officials will be deputed to conduct an inspection drive.

Security measures have been stepped up in the Capital ahead of Independence Day following a series of attacks in crowded places around the world.

“Parking facilities will not be available at Delhi Metro stations from 6 a.m. on August 14 till 2 p.m. on August 15 in view of the security measures adopted on the occasion of Independence Day,” an official said.
