The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Wednesday responded to the “disappointing” municipal election trends, calling it a clear case of electronic voting machine (EVM) tampering.

AAP leader, Gopal Rai said, “The results are not a reflection of the Modi wave in Delhi but a reflection of the the EVM wave.”

Mr. Rai was addressing the media outside Delhi’s chief minister and party’s national convenor Arvind Kejriwal’s residence.

“By playing such politics, BJP is trying to silence democracy,” Mr. Rai said.

Other party leaders also conveyed their shock and disappointment with the election results.

Senior party leader, Ashutosh asked, “How can a party which has not swept the roads of Delhi in 10 years, sweep the Delhi polls?”

He said AAP has done significant work for the people of Delhi in just their two years in government, especially in the field of health and education.
