The Delhi Police have identified the charred bodies of the Assamese woman and her minor son found at a house in Govindpuri on Sunday evening. “The victims were identified as Sunamuti Basumatary Biswa (30) and Kunal Biswa (6),” said a police officer.

The police suspect that the deaths could have taken place two to three days ago. No arrests have been made so far.

The matter came to notice when some area resident complained of a foul smell emanating from a flat. According to the police, someone from Gali no. 13 made a call to the police around 5 p.m. The police arrived and broke open the door of the house from where the smell was coming.

“We found the two highly decomposed bodies lying next to each other,” said a police officer.
