Gurugram Police seize

₹14 lakh in old currency

The Gurugram Police seized over ₹14 lakh in old currency on Sunday. Acting on a tip-off, a Crime Unit of the Gurugram Police laid a trap near KMP flyover at Panchgaon and flagged down a car coming from Manesar. During the search, the police found a white polythene bag under the seat of the car. The bag contained ₹14.36 lakh in cash: 248 notes of banned ₹500 denomination and

1,312 notes of ₹1,000 denomination. The matter has been forwarded to the Income Tax Department. Staff Reporter
