Grenade thrown at residence of RIMS chief

April 12, 2016 12:00 am | Updated 07:02 am IST - Imphal:

Unidentified persons lobbed a Chinese-made hand grenade at the residence of RIMS Medical Superintendent at Thangmeiband Lairenhanjanba area, a police officer said.

The officer said that the explosion at the home of Prof. Amuba of the Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) did not cause any casualty.

Meanwhile, unofficial reports said locals of the area rounded up and thrashed an individual believed to be involved in the incident.

The police were, however, yet to confirm this.

On April 1, the Medical Superintendent was the target of a bomb attack at his official headquarters, the officer said. - PTI
