Dense fog returned to the Capital on Wednesday morning after several days of clear weather and disrupted rail services as well as city and highway traffic.

However, there were no delays reported at the airport. The fog led to cancellation of 18 north-bound trains and delayed several others.

Visibility

At the Safdarjung observatory, visibility was recorded at 200 metre at 8.30 a.m. Visibility at the Palam observatory was 650 metres.

The minimum temperature was recorded at 5.6 degrees Celsius, two degrees below the normal for this time of the year. The maximum was 23.1 degrees Celsius, three degrees above normal.

The Meteorological Department has forecast clear sky during the day but dense fog in the morning on Thursday. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to settle between 25 and 6 degrees Celsius.
