The Delhi government on Thursday apologised for the omission of the words 'Socialist' and 'Secular' from ads published across national dailies on the occasion of Constitution Day.
Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has taken a "stern view of the matter" and has directed the Director of Information and Publicity to conduct an inquiry and submit a report on the faux pas within four days, a senior government official said.
According to the official, the Director has been asked to ascertain how "such important components of the Preamble of the Constitution" went missing from the text.
The inquiry will focus on whether some mischief was involved in this matter.
