The advisor to Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal was picked up by Delhi police on Wednesday morning from his residence at Maharani Bagh, in connection with the alleged assault on the Delhi Chief Secretary on Monday night.
VK Jain (rtd. IAS), was detained for questioning by the Delhi police early at 7am from his residence and taken to Civil Lines police station. He was released later in the morning.
On Monday, Delhi Chief Secretary Anshu Prakash, in his complaint, had mentioned receiving a call from Mr. Jain for the meeting at the CM’s residence around midnight. Additional DCP north Delhi Police, Harinder Singh, said that the Chief Secretary hasn't given a specific number of MLAs who were there. He declined to comment on whether Mr. Kejriwal would be quizzed or not.
On the complaint of the CS, AAP MLA Prakash Jarwal was arrested .
Mr. Jain is a retired IAS officer who was appointed as an advisor to the Chief Minister last year. He had served as the CEO of the Delhi Urban Shelter Improvement Board before retiring.
