Suspected Bangladeshi dacoits looted Rs 75,000 and other valuables from a group of tourists and injured one person at Piyali tourist spot in South 24 Parganas district.
Four families, consisting of 15 members, were attacked at a hotel by around 12 dacoits who looted Rs 75,000, gold ornaments, mobile phones and watches from them on Saturday night, police said on Sunday.
When Sudipta Bose tried to resist them, he was fired at and got seriously injured. He has been hospitalised.
All the families hailed from Behala area of Kolkata, they said.
West Bengal Urban Development Minister Firhad Hakim said, “Bangladeshi criminals are doing this. We have told the SP to arrest the culprits immediately. We will help the victim.”
