Cop run over by train in Subzi Mandi

A 54-year-old Assistant Sub-Inspector with the Delhi Police was killed after he was run over by a train in north Delhi’s Subzi Mandi on Saturday evening.

The police said it appeared to be an accident. They said that the victim, Om Prakash, was posted with the Police Control Room unit of the Delhi Police. The accident occurred while he was crossing the railway tracks.

“Mr. Prakash was crossing the track on Saturday evening when the train hit him. It was an accident,” said a senior railway police officer. A passerby informed the officials about the incident. Mr. Prakash had sustained head injuries. He was rushed to a hospital where he was declared brought dead. The victim lived in Kingsway Camp. His family resides in Gulabi Bagh and they have been informed.
