Virendra Hukumchand Kumar(60), from New Delhi, who was found murdered in a city hotel on Monday morning, died of asphyxia, according to post - mortem report.
A senior police official said here on Tuesday that the post mortem of the body was conducted at the State Goa Medical College Hospital in north Goa, after informing his family.
The victim’s mouth and nose were choked with a cloth, according to the post mortem report. Some injuries were also found on his body.
Suresh Laxman Naik Chopdekar, owner of Sapna Hotel in the city, had lodged a police complaint on Monday morning that during the intervening night of Sunday/Monday, four unknown persons who had checked into the hotel along with the deceased had allegedly committed his murder with a sharp weapon and fled away from the room.
During the course of investigation it was revealed that the accused persons had also taken the ATM card of the deceased and withdrawn cash from an ATM centre at Vasco in south Goa.
