Cabinet status for 2 in Uttarakhand

The Uttarakhand government on Monday gave the status equivalent to Cabinet minister to Kazi Mohiuddin and senior Congress leader Rajendra Singh, an official said here.

Kazi Mohiuddin has been given the post of Chairman of Senior Citizen Welfare Board while Rajendra Singh has been given the post of Chairman of Backward Class Welfare Board, Chief Minister Harish Rawat’s media in-charge Surendra Kumar said.

Kazi Mohiuddin had been a minister of undivided Uttar Pradesh, and also a member of the interim Legislative Assembly after Uttarakhand came into existence in 2000. PTI
