August 05, 2016 12:00 am | Updated 05:55 am IST - BERHAMPUR:

Normal life was paralyzed throughout Boudh district of Odisha on Thursday due to a dawn to dusk bandh call by the BJP to protest against the brutal assault on its party men by BJD leaders including an MLA on July 29.

These BJP activists, who faced the attack on July 29, were showing black flags to two State ministers at Manamunda of Boudh district.

Because of the bandh, shops, business establishments, educational institutions and banks remained closed in Boudh district. Vehicular traffic was drastically affected in the district due to this bandh call.

No passenger buses and other small passenger vehicles plied inside the district. BJP activists picketed in front of government offices in different parts of the district, affecting their functioning.

BJP activists came out on roads at places like Boudh town, Kantamal, Manamunda, Harabhanga, Purunakatak, Charichhak etc. to resort to demonstrations, picketing and road blockade. Former MP and senior BJP leader Rudra Pani also reached Boudh district to boost morale of party activists.
