BJP ad challenges CM to probe DJB scam

Asks Delhi CM to probe Jal Board scam

May 21, 2016 12:00 am | Updated September 12, 2016 07:33 pm IST - New Delhi:

Upping the ante against what it claims is Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s deliberate attempt to muzzle a multi-crore-rupee scam in the Delhi Jal Board (DJB), the Delhi BJP on Friday attempted to corner Mr. Kejriwal on the issue through newspaper ads.

BJP national secretary R.P. Singh, who figures prominently in the ad — bearing a similarity to Mr. Kejriwal’s pictures on Delhi government ads, throws a challenge to the Delhi CM to accept his own Water Minister Kapil Mishra's report on the “Jal Board Scam” allegedly related to the procurement of water tankers pegged at Rs. 400 crore,

“Submitting his report as Water Minster on 28-08-2015 to Chief Minister’s office, he exposed the collusion of the then DJB Chairman, Board Members and the then Delhi CM,” states the ad.

'Demand CBI inquiry'

“Mr. Kejriwal, you don't listen to the voice of reason of right thinking citizens; at least pay heed to your own serving minister's demand to lodge an FIR 'against all those involved in this scam'” the ad further states, before demanding a CBI inquiry into the alleged scam.

On its part, a senior government official said Mr. Mishra had already made his stance on the issue clear and it did not require “further clarification.”
