Yemeni student dies of illness

A 22-year-old student from Yemen, S. Haithm Mahyoob, pursuing B.Com International Business in a private arts and science college near Hope College on Avanashi Road, reportedly died of heart attack on Thursday night.

The Peelamedu Police said that he was staying in a rented room at Nehru Nagar along with his friends.

On Thursday night he complained of chest pain and was rushed to Coimbatore Medical College Hospital, where he died.

Charge sheet against Leoni

Eminent Tamil orator Dindigul I. Leoni was given charge sheet in connection with the defamation case registered against him for his alleged derogatory statements against former Chief Minister Jayalalithaa during a public meeting at Papanaickenpalayam in Coimbatore on June 19, 2013.

The next hearing of the case is on December 6, 2014.
