CPI (M) slams VHP

CPI (M) State committee member and former MP P.R. Natarajan on Wednesday accused the Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) of brainwashing educated youth to involve in violence.

Mr. Natarajan was responding to the arrest of Saravanakumar in connection with hurling of petrol bomb at CPI(M) office here recently.

Earlier, Mr. Natarajan and local leaders of the party called on Police Commissioner A. Amalraj on Wednesday and congratulated for their effort in arresting the accused.

“According to police, two person were involved in the attack. The party hopes that the police will arrest the second person also soon. The investigation should cover who entrusted them to carry out the attack,” said Mr. Natarajan to reporters.

Meanwhile, an official statement from VHP condemned the arrest of Saravanakumar.

The statement also condemned the police for not arresting the accused in cases related to the murder of Hindu Munnani leader Sasikumar and threat calls received by RSS leader Anand.
